UltraVision Announces Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Anglia Ruskin University
Release date: 16 Apr 2008
UltraVision has announced the initiation of a 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. The KTP is a Government led initiative, aimed at providing benefits to both industry and academia through a mutually beneficial partnership involving knowledge transfer and skills development.

The partnership has appointed Abigail Holland as their Associate. Abigail will work on the latest Silicone Hydrogel innovations being researched at UltraVision's R&D facility in Cambridge. Abigail is a qualified Optometrist with three years experience of working in high street practices and will oversee a clinical trial based at Anglia Ruskin University investigating various technological aspects of UltraVision's HydroWave® three-monthly Silicone Hydrogel lens. HydroWave® incorporates UltraVision's award winning wavefront optics and can be lathe-cut to any required prescription and parameters.

Expressing her enthusiasm for her new appointment, Abigail said; 'I am very excited about this new role. Having been based in high-street practices for three years, I realise the importance of offering patients the best contact lens designs possible, including those wearers who have very challenging prescriptions. I look forward to carrying out the clinical trials which will investigate the technological basis of the extensive research and development which has gone into the production of these innovative lenses.'

UltraVision launched their new Silicone Hydrogel range of contact lenses in December 2007. They will be showcasing their HydroWave® Toric and HydroWave® Multifocal lenses at the BCLA exhibition in May 2008. Further information about the HydroWave® products can be found at www.siliconehydrogel.co.uk.
